Liberty Parent Update
Liberty Elementary - Keller ISD
Dear Liberty Parents,
Coming up this October is our Liberty PTA FUN RUN fundraiser. This fundraiser is hostedcompletely by our PTA and 100% of our fundraising comes back to our students. Information will be coming home with your child soon about how you can help.
The FUN RUN is set for Friday, October 23rd during the school day. Students will walk and/or run laps to raise money to continue the funding of PTA events such as our Carnival, Santa Texas, Chili Cook-off, STEM night and the outdoor track.
As you recall, last year we began fundraising for the track to be built in the back area around the soccer field. The track cost we were initially given ended up not being viable and was extremely low. The current estimate we have on the table is just under $45,000. We raised almost half of this amount last school year. Our goal with fundraising this school year is to cover the cost of the track along with the other PTA expenses listed above.
The track will be an investment for our kids, families and community. It will give the students a better place to run/walk and a good place to avoid the holes out there right now. In addition, our families can benefit from using this area to walk or run after school hours. We are excited for this opportunity, and hope to raise enough money to reach our goal for this BIG project!
We are always looking for help from our families who know the construction industry and have any leads to help us in the planning process. If you have questions, please let me know.

Safety tips
We have a few safety reminders to help us as we begin our 2nd 6 weeks of school.
- Please no cell phones...texting or talking on phones as you drive on campus. This is a School Zone and cell phones are not to be in use. This is a huge safety issue for our students, staff members and other drivers.
- At Morning Arrival, please have students exit the cars to the outside of the lane or sidewalk side. Exiting in the middle of the drive is very dangerous.
- At Afternoon Dismissal, please have your car signs in the window. A great tip...use a pant's hanger to hang the sign from your rear-view mirror.
We have had an increase of people calling ahead to have their student waiting in the office for pick-up. Please make a note, we will call students from class when you arrive and sign your child out. This allows your child to continue learning in class instead of losing instruction time waiting in the office.
CEIC
We will meet four times a year to review what's happening at Liberty and in Keller ISD.
Please email Janet Travis at janet.travis@kellerisd.net if you are interested in being apart of this committee.
KHS Homecoming Parade
Students walking with us in the parade, should wear a Liberty t-shirt. Parents, please plan on walking with your child in the parade.
