Roosevelt Weekly Parent Info

Hello to all Roosevelt Raccoons! Here are a few reminders for the week:

GO VIKINGS!!!! It's an exciting time for the Minnesota Vikings. To help support them, Friday will be Vikings Day at Roosevelt. Students should wear their Vikings gear or wear purple! In addition to Friday being Vikings Day at Roosevelt, we are planning to do an all-school SKOL Chant challenge, sponsored by KARE 11, on Friday afternoon. Here's the information: Send us a video of your school’s best SKOL Chant, and you may get a chance to see your video on-air during a KARE 11 newscast. Please note that after submitting your video, KARE 11 will have the right to copyright, to use and to license others to use the video content, in any and all media or manner. Let’s show the Vikings that the schools of Minnesota are cheering them on! SKOL VIKINGS! If you DO NOT want your child to participate in this event, please communicate with your child's teacher.

• The next Coffee with the Principal is FRIDAY!!!!! Please come!! Drop your kiddos off at school and come to Cub Foods West for some great conversation and a nice, hot cup of coffee!

OKAY Campaign! How's it going at home? Are you helping to teach and coach kiddos to say okay and do it right away? I know in my own household, we are really focused on this idea and why it's important. It takes PRACTICE to shape this behavior, so your support is really appreciated. A few students have completed their OKAY slips (the yellow ones that were mailed home) and returned them to the office. Keep working on this!

Roosevelt Night At The Musuem: BACK by popular demand...it's Roosevelt's night at the Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota. When? Friday, February 2 from 6:00-8:00 PM. This event is FREE to all Roosevelt students and their families. This is not a drop-off event; students must attend with a parent or guardian. Come and play and have fun!

• Mark your calendar...the Roosevelt Family Reading Celebration & the Roosevelt Science Fair will be held on Friday, February 16. More details about exact times will be coming soon.

As always, thank you for supporting our work!
