PTA MEETING: CARPOOL CONCERNS

The OCE PTA will be discussing the carpool situation at the next PTA meeting, next Thursday, March 14th at 1:00 p.m. (sign in at front office) and we invite ALL parents that are concerned about this issue and its impact to come to this meeting.

If the carpool situation continues, due to the Apex Barbecue bridge closer, further discussions will need to be addressed with Mayor Olive, the Town of Apex, and Apex PD. As a school and community, we need to work on this together, so Dr. Steidinger’s focus can continue to stay on our school and children.

If you are unable to attend this meeting but have questions or concerns, please email them to oce.pta@gmail.com.

CREW NEWS

Final Donations Due: Jump Rope for Heart

This is your last opportunity to collect donations for the American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart fundraisers our Clippers have been participating in! Final donations are due by Monday, March 11.

Spring Cleaning Colorcycle Collection

While you're spring cleaning and realizing your old, dry markers are not sparking joy for you or your kids, don't dump them in the trash - send them in to the Crayola ColorCycle program! All old, used markers can be sent to your child's teacher or the collection bin at the front office.

Crayola ColorCycle is an amazing program devised to repurpose used markers rather than sending them to landfills! The ColorCycle program has repurposed more than 70 tons of expended markers in the United States and Canada since 2013, and uses the most advanced plastic conversion technologies available today to make wax compounds for asphalt and roofing shingles as well as to generate electricity that can be used to heat homes, cook food, and power vehicles.

So let those old markers spark joy in a new way - donate them to Crayola ColorCycle!

Walk to School Wednesday

March brought us a cold, but at least dry, walk. Thank you to Mayor Olive and Officer Patel for walking with us.

Congratulations to the Kindergarteners for having the most walkers in March! Did you hear that the Town of Apex donated free bike helmets? If you didn’t get yours, Walk to School in April and pick one out. Then you’ll be ready for the March Bike to School day!
