Lopat's Lowdown
Office of the Principal - Faculty Newsletter September 27th
Cougar Faculty,
Phenomenal job during conferences this week! I know it can be a stressful time and Thursday is a long night talking about your students. Thank you for being yourself, talking about the whole child, and making our families feel comfortable during their conference. Canyon Rim truly is a special place because of YOU!
In honor of conferences, I'm keeping it short and sweet...
- October 14th is our full day PD Day- I will have out the schedule to you next week
- The afternoon 1-4 is FFF (Forced Faculty Fun) off campus
- Plan on car pooling, you will be fed, we will have fun ;)
- Even though it's not a work day for classified, I would love if you attended
- Paras have a mandatory mini conference at Campo Verde on Oct 14th in the morning- please sign-up if you haven't yet. This pertains to preschool, SPICE, and resource paras.
- Halloween- Costumes can be worn all day. I will send out something more official to parents next week-- They must be school appropriate, no blood, no gore, no masks, no weapons, no face paint... and no inflatable T-Rex
- I encourage you to dress up, grade level themes are always fun. It's not mandatory
- No parade
Have a great weekend!
-Joe

October's Focus- Success Criteria
During observations I am looking for how the lesson closure corresponds with the objective. Do students assess their learning on the objective? Is the success criteria clearly communicated with students? Are there checks for understanding?
