Warrior News
A Weekly Newsletter for Warrior Families and Students
September 4, 2020
Greetings Warrior Families and Friends,
What an AWESOME week! Having the sounds of laughter and learning once again filling the classrooms of MHS was exactly what we all needed.
We can’t say enough how incredibly proud and grateful we are of our Warriors! Their investment and support in working together to stay safe so we can stay open was inspiring. Our students truly modeled the Way of a Warrior - RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, HUMILITY, INTEGRITY, PRIDE. They were RESPECTFUL of the new expectations and risk mitigations in place. They took ownership and embraced that we are all RESPONSIBLE to do our part to stay safe so we can stay open. They demonstrated HUMILITY in their willingness to think about others ahead of their own preference by wearing a mask to help keep others safe. Additionally, they had the INTEGRITY to do so even when they weren’t being watched. Most importantly, their words and actions clearly communicated the immense PRIDE they take in being a WARRIOR! In being here, TOGETHER, and working towards our mission of learning, growing, and succeeding!
Once again, thank you for your continued support and partnership in supporting our efforts to stay safe so we can stay open. Please continue to have your student(s) monitor their health and wellness. If they demonstrate any symptoms, have them stay home. If you have questions or concerns about this, please check out the PARENT REENTRY FAQ or the Health Services information on our school webpage, or contact an administrator.
Enjoy the long weekend, get some rest, and be ready for an awesome week 2!
Take care and GO WARRIORS.

All School Test Day - September 9, 2020 for all 9th-11th graders
We are excited to have a Fall Testing Day on September 9, 2020 for all 9th-11th graders. The Pre-ACT and Practice ACT will provide useful information to help your child choose the right high school courses, identify areas of strength and growth, and be foundational in the process of creating a long-term academic and career plan to meet your student’s goals. MHS staff are excited to be partners in this process. Upon the completion of the testing, time will be dedicated by staff to help students understand their results and set meaningful goals. Please click this link for additional details on this valuable experience
Quarantine Information - Academic Support
Information regarding the contact process and details about who may be quarantined can be found in the PARENT REENTRY FAQ. If your student(s) is quarantined we have systems in place to help ensure they can keep up with their academics. Students will be able to connect into all of their courses virtually through a google meet. The link for each class can be found on the Weekly Agenda for the class. It is the students responsibility to log into the meeting during their scheduled class time. If there are additional resources or documents for the course that cannot be transferred digitally, we have created a contactless pick-up station at the main entrance of MHS. If you are unable to stop by MHS to pick-up these resources, please contact your school counselor.

Release Option for Juniors & Seniors
Why
To reduce traffic and congestion during our traditional school arrival and departure time.
To reduce the number of students in some of our historically large groups spaces like study hall and the cafeteria. Reducing the number of students in these areas helps to create additional space for social distancing.
Who
Any Junior or Senior who has a study hall period 1,5, or 7.
What
After a parent/guardian has completed the permission form, students “Study Hall” will be replaced with a “Release” period.
Students are not to be on campus during this time. Students may make an appointment with a teacher to get additional support during this time, but will need to have communicated this in advance with the teacher via an email. The email from the teacher will serve as the students pass to enter the building.
No attendance will be taken for the release period.
Release may be revoked upon parent request or if attendance/tardy issues arise.
Students with 1st period release may enter the building through door 23 or door 1 from 8:10-8:15.
Students with 5th period release may enter the building through Door 16 or Door 1 from 12:30-12:35.
Students with 5th period release do not return to campus for lunch.
If you have any questions or would like to enroll in this option please contact your school counselor or an administrator.

Providing guidelines for responsible cell phone use promotes classroom engagement, encourages academic honesty, and develops positive classroom and social interactions.
