A Note from the principal...
Can you believe it's almost FEBRUARY?!? It seems like just yesterday we started this school year, but in a few days, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school!! Thank you for supporting Dove Elementary by working with your student on learning objectives at home, attending our school events and spirit nights, and partnering with our teachers and staff.
Proud to be your principal,
Heather Landrum

Action Cycle
We love to see students take self-initiated action as a result of their learning at Dove. When students take take action through doing, thinking or saying something differently, we see evidence that they are able to extend and apply learning beyond the walls of our school.
First grade is wrapping up their unit on How We Organize Ourselves. Students have been learning about economic decisions and the choices we make with money. Through this unit students have learned about needs and wants, goods and services, and the value of work. Students filled out job applications and interviewed for jobs within the classroom. They learned about earning money, spending, saving, and charitable giving.
One first grade student took action by donating toys to a local charity. He said “I got lots of new toys. Toys are wants. I had so many, I wanted to give some to kids that don’t have that much”. When you see evidence of your student taking action based on their learning, please share with your child’s teacher by sending a note, or an e-mail. We want to highlight and celebrate student-initiated actions at Dove.
