A Message From Dr. Ricks

Parents and Friends,

Happy Holidays! Spirits are high as we work our way towards our Christmas Break. Thank you for helping your children with our Sock Drive. And a special thanks to Gretchen Pettis and the GES Gator Squad for providing the inspiration for this service project. We collected over 1500 pairs of socks! This is an amazing number and will go a long way towards providing comfort for those in need during the next several months.

Our school service of Lessons and Carols is Wednesday, December 16 at 8:00 a.m. This Chapel is always one of the high points of the year and is a wonderful service for you to attend with your children.

Thank you to all who have participated in the Annual Fund. I am proud to report that we are at 99% for our faculty and staff. Next week, we will report parent participation numbers, so please keep those Annual Fund pledges coming in, and don’t forget to make your Annual Fund contributions before Dec. 31 in order to receive the tax benefit in 2015.

Warmly,

Dr. Beth J. Ricks

Head of School

BASKETBALL

The Middle School boys and girls wrapped up their seasons on Tuesday with away games at Lee. The athletes played hard and we are So proud of their efforts this season.

Lower School Basketball will begin games in January, and the teams have been practicing and getting ready for a full season.

Family Basketball Night is January 22. Please mark your calendars.

SOCCER

Middle School Soccer finished this week as well with the girls tying Good Hope on Monday, 1-1 and Caroline Graham scored the GES goal. Coach Alyssa Lopez worked hard with a lot of the girls and we look for a great season next year.

The boys had a victory vs Riser @ NELSA on Wednesday. Coach Martini had a young squad and made great strides throughout the season.

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The parent meeting was well attended, and we thank you for your participation. We have had a great response from our students who want to play and there are full rosters for each team! Your coaches should be contacting you shortly about practice times and games.

The Booster Club Mix and Mingle Party will be Monday Dec 14 at Portico restaurant from 5:30-7:30.

You don't have to be a member to attend! Please come, visit, and get familiar with all of the great things that the Booster club is doing to help GES Athletics be a competitive force in sports. Please RSVP to Coach Greene if you would like to attend. rgreene@graceepiscopal.org
