Introduction: What is Volcano????

Volcano is a vent that transfer magma from depth to the earth surface. And what is coming out from the volcano is hot lava, volcano ashes and gases.

And today we are going to talk about some basic information about volcano and then we will compare the information with the film 'Volcano' to see whether the movie shows us the reality.

What happens when a volcano erupts?

When pressures in the magma chamber forces magma and it will come out from the vent. When the magma come from vent, it became lava. Lava will be released from the volcano. At the same time, gas and rock fragments will also being erupt out off the vent with the lava.

Comparison between movie 'Volcano' and the real life volcano

This video is part of the movie 'Volcano'. In this video, I am going to show you some of the screenshots of this movie and compare them with the real life volcano eruption.

In this screenshot, it shows that there is an earthquake occurring. It is true, because there might be an earthquake occurs during volcanic eruption.

In this screenshot, it shows a rock fragment is falling onto a building, which could be happened in a real volcano eruption.
Big image
In this screenshot, you could see that the windows of a building were being shattered. In real life, while volcano erupts, windows are impossible to get shattered. So this effect shown in the movie is not realistic.

In this screenshot, we could see that there are lava flowing. So in the real life, lava does flows out of the volcano, some of them may even spout out from the volcano.

In this screenshot, you could see the whole street is full of dusts and ashes which does happen in real life. Dusts and ashes are also being erupted with the lava during the eruption, so this effect shown in the movie is realistic.
