An Apple a Day
Keeps the Doctor Away
We continued our community helper theme throughout this short, wet school week. We talked about firefighters and counted dots on dice that matched with numerals on fire. We talked about teachers and bus drivers, then glued missing parts onto a bus. We discussed how doctors help us when we're sick, then we put together our own doctor kit which included bandaids, Q-tips, and gauze. With our friends from Room 15, we played in our post office dramatic play area by writing letters to friends, putting letters in the mailbox, and sorting big and little boxes. We listened and followed directions really well during our earthquake drill on Wednesday!
During speech rotations, we continued talking about different places in our community. We read a story about a dog named Spot, who took a trip to the park, and had lots of fun adventures with his friends. We also did a "What do you see?" activity where a picture was hidden behind a file folder, and we could only see a little part of the picture. Then we had to guess what place in the community it was (e.g., beach, fire station, playground, etc.), based off what we could see, and we were great at it!
