A Note on Fairness & Trust in Grading
- Regarding our convo last week: your students place a lot of stock in fairness and trust.
- That being said: Group members please email me if people are MIA during project work time
Check In With Your Group: 2 Minutes
- For my own info: how have you chosen to document your project (Google Docs, Box, emailing back & forth, etc.?)
- Participation...everyone?
- Go over your Classroom Context and next steps, plan of action for next week
- Get on the same page
Padlets!
- Go to your group's Padlet
- Add the file or a link to your Classroom Context for Learning, or copy and paste it all (but whoa, what a pain)
- Then go to other groups' Padlets and add ASSESS and provide feedback.
- Don't just say "this is nice"...provide meaningful feedback.
- What criteria should we be looking for?
Criteria for Classroom Context Assessment:
- Is all info there?
- Spelling errors
- Is it realistic?
- Is it detailed?
- Appropriate supports, modifications, adaptions, language.
- Spacial considerations are realistic and relevant to content and age.
Continuing with Lecture Discussion
- How can you incorporate some of this into your Syllabus next week?
- Why, again, do I always give you an agenda and go over it at the beginning of class? Why did we set a list of criteria for assessing the Classroom Contexts today?
- Do you think you could, as a group, decide on an assessment scale at this moment in time?
- What about that big list of things that could be part of the final grade (attendance, supplies, participation, organization, good behavior, quizzes, group work skills, etc.)?
- Discuss as a group.
