Change in Health Screener Process
Thank you to all our families who have been diligent in submitting the daily health screener survey for your households. In an effort to provide more flexibility and convenience to families, we are shifting to a self-assessment process.
Beginning, Wednesday, September 1, 2021, families will no longer be required to submit the daily health screener survey. Rather, families will be asked to conduct a self-assessment. If you answer “yes” to any of the following questions, you may not send your child(ren) to school and should contact the school office to discuss next steps.
Self-Assessment Health Questions:
- Do you feel feverish, have a cough or sore throat?
Have you been experiencing difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, or unexplained muscle aches?
Have you had a new or unusual headache (e.g., not related to caffeine, diet, or hunger, history of migraines, clusters, or tension, or that are not typical for you)?
Have you noticed a new loss of taste or smell?
Have you been experiencing chills, rigors (a sudden feeling of cold with shivering accompanied by a rise in temperature, often with heavy sweating), or gastrointestinal concerns (e.g., abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea)?
Is anyone in your household displaying any symptoms of COVID-19?
To the best of your knowledge, have you or anyone in your household come in close contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19?
Learning Model Status Communications
Week 2 is off to a great start in our schools. Having our students in-person has made such a great impact on the learning environment!
As we progress into the school year, it is important that families stay connected to the school by reading all communications being sent. Please be sure that your contact information, including cell phone and email, are updating in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Important information will be sent to families via email, text, and/or autocall.
One of the most significant challenges that we may face as a school district in being able to continue to provide in-person learning is the availability of staff. This includes our instructional staff and bus drivers. While procedures are in place to adapt to staffing shortages due to the COVID-19 virus, there may be times that adjustments may need to be made. These adjustments could range from bus transportation changes to the need to implement remote learning for a short period of time.
While procedures have been implemented to help combat these potential issues and hope these types of changes are limited in scope, we need to be prepared for them. Any necessary changes will be communicated with as much advance notice as possible.
We thank you for your continued support as we navigate the in-person learning structure.
Please contact your child’s school office if you have any questions about this information.
