Hybrid Learning Begins on Monday for Grades 3rd-6th (Continues for PreK-2)

Broken Arrow Families,

It was amazing to have our K-2nd Graders back in the building this past week as we launched Hybrid Learning.

It is now time to also welcome our 3rd-6th Graders back beginning Monday, October 12.

It is so important that you know which two days your child attends during their two weeks of Hybrid Learning.

Below you will find a reference, but if you still aren't sure please reach out to your child's teacher or our office so your child attends on their appropriate days of the week.

Last Name A-Lamb Monday/Tuesday attendance

Last Name Lamc - Z Wednesday Thursday attendance

In some situations, you may have been asked to attend certain dates to balance class size.

Please reach out to your child's current teacher if you are uncertain which days they will be attending school during Hybrid Learning.

Our Remote Learners continue to shine as I have had many success stories shared by our Remote Learning Teachers.

You have many sources for help in answering your questions.
Don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher, our office, or myself directly as questions arise. We will continue to support each other through the ever-changing world we now live in.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mr. Horne

Masks WILL Be Worn During Recess

Change in Original Safety Procedures:

Students will be wearing masks at all times other than when eating (will always be six feet apart when eating) to minimize the number of students needed to quarantine when exposed to a confirmed case.

Teachers will have a designated social distanced area on the playground for any child that would like to remove their mask.

New Broken Arrow Safety Procedures

As we continue bringing in-person students back in the building next week (3rd-6th graders in addition to the younger grades who returned this week), please be sure you have familiarized yourself - and your kids - with the following practices for safety:

  • Don't forget if you are picking up your child during dismissal that it is extremely important to have your Family Number displayed and that you pick up on the correct side of the building that you have been assigned (as that is where your child will be sent from the classroom)

Halloween Festivities

Broken Arrow will forgo classroom parties, treats, etc. in order to maintain student and staff safety.

We look forward to the time when we are able to resume many of our festive traditions.

We will still make the day a fun for our students!

Broken Arrow PTA Information

Our Parent Teacher Association has been able to continue to support a variety of important resources for Broken Arrow this year! We’ll be sharing with you a variety of ways you can support the funds we raise to partner with the school in this way.

Save the date for dinner at Chipotle on Monday, October 26th! When you visit the location on Shawnee Mission Parkway between the hours of 4-8pm, and tell them you’re with Broken Arrow (or use the online order code CVLFMB2), Chipotle will funnel 33% of your order back to our school! A huge thank you to Chipotle! We will have a handful of restaurant nights throughout the year, but Chipotle is by far the most generous! Save the date and invite your friends and neighbors!

Support Broken Arrow - Box Tops for Education and Amazon Smile

These are two ongoing ways you can support our school!

Box Tops for Education- scan your receipt into the app every time you shop, and any eligible purchased items will donate 10¢ to Broken Arrow!

A few details:

  • Participating partners no longer print box tops for clipping, but if you happen to have a collection of old clipped box tops, you can still turn those in to the school office.

  • If you’re shopping online for groceries or get digital receipts, you can still earn Box Tops for our school. Make sure you have created an account, then email your receipts to receipts@boxtops4education.com, using the same email that’s associated with your Box Tops account.

Amazon Smile- If you have an Amazon Prime account, when you make a simple change to that account, Amazon will donate 0.5% of your eligible purchases to our school! Here’s how:

Desktop:

  1. Instead of shopping at Amazon.com, use the url Smile.Amazon.com

  2. Sign in with your normal Amazon credentials

  3. Under “Account & Lists” click on “Your AmazonSmile”

  4. Select Broken Arrow Elementary PTA as your charity

  5. Begin shopping- every time you’ll need to visit smile.amazon.com as opposed to amazon.com. Keep in mind, not all products are eligible for an AmazonSmile donation. You will see an icon designating eligible products.

On the app:

  1. Open the app and find “Settings” in the main menu

  2. Tap on “AmazonSmile” and follow the on-screen instructions to turn on AmazonSmile on your phone.

  3. Once this is turned on you don’t need to do anything else. All shopping from the app will go towards our charity when eligible.
