Spring Term

Spring Term 1

What have Milton been up to?

Message from our Principal

At Milton School we have had a great half-term our pupils have enjoyed taking part in their house system activities and this term we have seen 3 new house leaders and we are looking forward to Spring 2 competitions.

We have celebrated success in the Yorkshire Regional VEX robotics competition which took place at AMRC and are through to the finals of the Sheffield Bouldering Competition.

Our Y10 pupils have been enjoying inter-generational work with elderly people at Mulberry Manor. Our pupils have enjoyed this experience at listening to the stories of the residents.

I would like to say a big thank you to our pupils, staff, parents and governors for their hard work during the past term.

Wishing you all a safe and happy half-term holiday,

Best wishes

Mrs A Costello

House system

This half-term we thanked Mr Turnbull for all his hard work with Team Cook , as he stepped down as Head of House. The pupils of Milton School were thrilled to see 3 new house leaders take up their positions. Mr Tomlinson as Head of Cook alongside Miss Hale and Mr B Brown. Mrs Storey and Mr Earl as Heads of Kingsley, as we thank Miss McCabe for all her hardwork with Kingsley as she now will be overseeing the house system and Epraise shop.

Don't go bacon my heart...i couldn't if i fried

A huge thank you to all pupils and staff who raised over £140 for the Rotherham Hospice with the 'Don't go bacon my heart ... i couldn't if i fried' morning. All pupils were invited to come over to the Y11 cafe to enjoy lovely food, spend time with pupils from different classes, all whilst raising money for such a great cause. Well done and thank you again

School Nutritionist

Our school nutritionist has been once again working with pupils and parents in developing healthy eating & exercise knowledge. Feedback has been extremely positive and we are lucky to have Paige working with us until the summer. Keep your eyes posted for her YouTube channel you can access to get fit at home too !

Women In Leadership

Milton has been hosting the Women In Leadership - Vision Through Art course lead by Principal Amanda Costello and Artist Sharon Snaylam. This course is for women interested in developing their leadership skills in education across all phases, using exciting and innovative creative ways to reflect on current practice and to develop your personal attributes. We have had teachers from South & West Yorkshire coming to take part in this course and everyone has been extremely complimentary about Milton School and the wonderful pupils we have attending! A special well done to all the pupils who have been helping prepare and serve the food for the course! Some young chef's in the making.
