The Kennedy Pride - 2018-19

October News

Note from the Principal

We are off to a great start to the school year. We have had many highlights. One of our highlights is having the Fifth Grade Students teach us how to be "Proactive" in our assembly and discuss how being proactive can help all of us succeed at school and at home. We are trying to create a happy Kennedy family and is so important to all of us to have a safe and welcoming school. We continue to discuss how important it is to treat people the way you would like to be treated. We have also put a lot of emphasis on reading at home again this year. Thank you for your support and help. Each month we will try to do a little more. We ask that our students read or be read to for 30 minutes night during the week. If a student gets 30 PAWS in October, they can dress up like a book character on the last day of the month. Our Open House and Book Fair is coming on October 25th. Hope to see you all there. It is so great to see all of our Kennedy families coming together.

Kindness in Chalk

Kindness in Chalk Event

On September 28th, we took time out of our day to participate in a Kindness in Chalk event. From 1:45 to 2:15 all of our students were spreading kindness by writing positive messages on our school sidewalks for all the people of Kennedy to enjoy.

Thank you for all of your support!

Pride Time

Every month our students get to meet in their Pride Groups. These are groups that have students of all age groups. The students meet with a Pride Teacher that helps them make connections with students in other grades. The students also get a lesson on one of the Seven Healthy Habits. This month we were focused on being Proactive. This is Ms. Dickau and Ms. Kelly teaching their Pride Groups.

Kennedy Preschool News - Update from Ms. Hillary

We are off to a great start in our Kennedy Pre-K classroom! There has been so much excitement from all the children and families, and we are so happy and proud to be part of the Kennedy Elementary learning community! We have been spending the first few weeks of school learning new routines, making new friends, building our classroom community, and having lots of fun! We will soon begin exploring the changing leaves and colors of Autumn by taking nature walks and sketching our observations of the trees. Later in October we will be learning more about the science of pumpkins by measuring and weighing them, and exploring their insides and how they grow. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!
