Pilum
It was a long range weapon. It was a throwing spear and around two meters long. It was specially designed to bend on contact, so it couldn't be used back at the Romans.
Gladius
It was adopted from the Spanish. It was around 55cm, light and since Romans don't slash, it was used for stabbing. Used by majority of Roman legionnaires.
Oil
Oil was important in the Roman army because it was used to keep their weapons in good shape and prevent them from rusting.
