Securely Home
Online Safety
U-46 parents will have access to the free and optional Securly Home app, which allows parents to view their child’s internet activity on their District-owned device at any time. Parents can also receive a weekly email from Securly with a snapshot report of their child’s internet activity, which can inspire conversations at home about good digital citizenship. Another feature is the ability to tap the “pause” button to turn on/off internet access for students’ U-46 device during non-school hours. In other words, this ability to pause the internet does not work during school hours. To learn more, watch this video.
Please note parents are not required to download the Securly Home app or to follow their children’s activity on District-owned devices, although the students and their parents/guardians bear sole responsibility for exercising appropriate internet guidelines and for abiding by state and federal laws and regulations.
All parents will receive an email from Securly welcoming them to the Securly Home system, if parents decide to take advantage of this service, they just need to follow the instructions included in that email. The email will include instructions on downloading the Securly app either through the Apple App Store or Google Play. These instructions can also be found on our Online Safety website page.
If your student has an iPad, instructions to re-enroll it will need to be followed. If the iPad is not re-enrolled, Securly Home will not be enabled. Please find the re-enroll instructions here. The instructions are needed only for iPads.
Please note, the Securly Home service is only tied to a child’s District-issued Chromebook or iPad. Please see this helpful FAQ here as well as directions here for how to use Securly Home app. Questions can also be directed to homesupport@securly.com.

Laurel Hill Transformation Dates
Laurel Hill is unique in our district due to our site exception. One of the key factors in student success is allowing time for staff to collaborate in order to analyze student data, learn from one another, and identify areas in our instruction that are working and may need to be adjusted in order to support the needs of all of our students.
*When we return to in person learning, students will be dismissed at 10:52 am on the following dates:
Transformation Days:
December 16, 2020
January 20, 2021
February 17, 2021
March 17, 2021
April 21, 2021
May 19, 2021
During distance learning, synchronous instruction will end at 10:52, as it will each day of distance learning. However, during asynchronous learning, teachers will not be available. Students are not expected to participate during the afternoon of our Transformation Days. However, in order to maintain a level of consistency for our children, teachers may decide to ask student use this time to practice or complete projects that they have not completed.
*Please note that when we return to in person learning, students, who receive bus transportation will remain at school until 2:00 pm while students who walk home or are transported to a child care facility will dismiss at 10:52 am
