Shearon has more than a decade of experience in education, dedicating the majority of her career to Jefferson County Public Schools. She first joined the district in 2009 as an English Language Arts teacher at Johnson Traditional Middle School. In 2012, Shearon moved over to Westport Middle School to continue teaching English Language Arts and also serve as a team leader and goal clarity coach. Four years later, she left the district to take on a new role at the Kentucky Department of Education. Shearon worked as an Educational Recovery Specialist for three years before coming back to JCPS to join the Office of Teaching and Learning as the manager of Academic Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. She spent several months on that team before becoming the assistant principal at St. Matthews Elementary in October 2019.
“I am honored to be selected as the next principal of Stopher Elementary,” Shearon said. “I am passionate about the elementary school experience and can’t wait to begin connecting with students, staff, and families. Stopher has a history of academic excellence, rich offerings for students, and deep community involvement. I am committed to ensuring every student thrives at Stopher.”
Shearon earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University. She also has a master’s degree and an educational specialist degree from the University of Louisville.
Shearon starts her new position on February 14.

Car Rider Line
The morning car rider line is now dropping off around 15 vehicles at once. The line forms as it always has but will now circle around to the front of the building and begin dropping off students there. As the line stops for those students, the vehicles on the side of the building will be able to unload at the same time. If this new route continues to be successful, we will continue to use it.
The car rider line begins on Arnold Palmer Blvd, turns right onto Landmark Dr, crosses Aiken and proceeds along the drive. This route is for BOTH morning and afternoon! No one should be entering the Stopher drive via Aiken Rd other than our staff. Please be considerate and respectful of those parents following this procedure by joining the END of the line.
We are receiving daily complaints from Lake Forest residents. Please do not block driveways or intersections. Please do not negatively interact with residents trying to commute through their neighborhood. Thank you for being a positive representative of Stopher!
