Math & Science

In math we are studying decimals. We will review rounding and how to compare and order decimals. We will also work on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals.

In science we are reviewing information from the entire year to prepare for our upcoming STAAR test. We are also working on reinforcing our understanding of vocabulary terms from throughout the year. Please help your child study the STAAR Science review packet that will be completed this week and sent home on Wednesday, April 16. Quiz your child on terms and information from the packet, or simply discuss what they know about the different topics.

Reading & Social Studies

In Language Arts, we are reviewing sentence variety and combining sentences with engaging, hands-on group activities. We will begin reading and studying classic myths and continue studying dramas. We are also working on improving our writing by using more academic vocabulary and sensory detail.

In Social Studies, students will begin to present their Western Expansion projects to the class. Each student has been working hard with their groups to research different groups of settlers that moved west in the 1800s. Ask your child to tell you about their unique group of settlers!
