Ring Leader Tidbits

~ Happy Counselor's Week to the most AMAZING counselor!! Thank you, Tammie, for everything you do for our kiddos!! Make sure you show Tammie some love this week! We love the Greatest Counselor on Earth!! :)

~Shout out to Courtney and Patty and their respective committees for organizing our Math/Science Night! Also, thank you to Tammie for organizing the In-N-Out truck again this year. Make sure to communicate to parents that tickets must be pre- purchased. Also, make sure they all know that the truck will be here at 5:30, but the events do not start until 6:00. The truck will be leaving at 6:30, while the events don't end until 7:00, so we want to make sure that everyone is aware.

~ Speaking of this Friday, we will have cake in the lounge for everyone to enjoy to wish Lilly and Laura a big farewell. Lilly's last day will be this Friday, and Laura's last day will be the 22nd. We will miss each of them SO much!

~This afternoon is TELPAS training in the library. The meeting is just for professional employess; para do not need to attend.

~ Just a friendly reminder... as you are walking your class in the hallway, please make sure you stay with them. I know this sounds silly; however, there are many times when students are in the hallway unaccompanied and/or the teacher brings up the rear and/or gets caught up the the room. This is when a lot of behaviors can occur and no one is there to witness it. Please make sure you are always visible.

School Bulletin

~ Thank you to those of you who have submitted employee of the year nominations so far. Please make sure to nominate, as we have SO many deserving candidates. Remember, you can print off the applications and/or fill them out online. I also emailed you the list of eligible recipients (those who have completed 3 full years within the district). Please get those nominations turned into me by this Friday, February 8th.

~ Kuddos to all of you who have sent your reflections! Thanks for your honesty and feedback. I hope you are seeing value in doing these, and I would love to have some of you share at our meeting on the 18th. Shout out to Amarisa for using the reciprocal teaching method in her KG room and her willingness to share about it at our next meeting!

~ TELPAS testing is upon us. Here are a few dates to remember:

February 13th: Make up calibration

March 8th: Collection 3 & 4

~ This year, the district has decided that ALL elementary campuses will have the traditional open house. This is why our family math/science night is so early. When you are working on projects and finished writing pieces, etc., remember to save things to have for open house. Make sure to have up to date work in the hallways, etc. Open House is the Thursday before spring break on March 7th.

~ I mentioned this in last week's newsletter, but make sure to adjust your calendars for Seussical. We have moved it to Wednesday, March 20th at 6:00 pm, due to some conflicts. It will still take place at Creekview. This change will allow those students who were interested in participating in UIL to be able to participate in both, if they choose.

Elk of the Month Criteria

We are combining Great Expectations character traits as well as areas discussed in Positive Action to guide our Elk of the Month selections. These areas are also the areas that Tammie will be discussing in guidance lessons. They're pretty general, but we think that's what makes you all have some freedom and creativity when selecting the students.

Here is this month's focus:

February:

Honesty

GE:

Integrity

Sincerity

PA:

Self- Honesty

Truth
