BJH STUDENT CLUBS COME TOGETHER DURING THE HOLIDAYS

Bedford JH’s Spanish Club, French Club, NJHS, and Junior World Affairs Council collaborated this year for their service project. The project was to fill as many shoe boxes full of gifts for kids between 2-14 years old in the Dominican Republic.

Students were able to bring items such as dolls, toys, toothbrushes, pajamas, socks, tennis shoes, school supplies, etc. to their club sponsor in the month of November. They filled 55 boxes for the Haitian refugees living in the Dominican Republic. Mr. DeLeon, a Spanish Teacher at Bedford JH, would then organize the delivery of the boxes to the impoverished neighborhood of Duquesa in Santo Domingo Norte.
