Lincoln Elementary Weekly Update

Message from Mrs. Kirkwold

Dear Lincoln families,

It’s been hard, this past week, not to think about much else other than the rising number of positive Covid-19 cases in our county. Superintendent Ebeling’s recent message got many of you wondering what might happen in the next few weeks. Unfortunately, none of us can accurately predict how this will go, but please know that we are constantly discussing all possible options, and all the effects each will have on our students, families, and community.

Lincoln students are doing an amazing job to keep each other safe. Mask wearing, hand washing, and social distancing is working for us. Because of this, we are not currently considering a change in learning model (to hybrid or online/virtual) for Lincoln. You can help us keep it that way by:

  • Keeping students home if sick or displaying symptoms (see graphic below)

  • Keeping students home if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive

  • Keeping students home if a family member is waiting for a test result

  • Being mindful of home and community activities, such as sports and sleepovers (wearing masks, hand washing, social distancing, etc.)

By being diligent with the above steps, you can help keep exposure down for our students, our teachers & staff (without whom we cannot keep schools open), and our community.

Please reach out to me if you have questions about learning models, or our school nurse if you are wondering whether you should keep your Lincoln student home. We will get through this by working together!

In partnership,

- Mrs. Kirkwold

To report an absence, please call or email the Lincoln office (contact information at the bottom, also linked on our Lincoln home page). You can alert the classroom teacher if you wish, but they will not be responsible for reporting absences to our office and nurse. When you call or email to report an absence, please include symptoms so that our nurse can follow up with you as needed.

Winter Recess Gear

Unfortuanly, we will not be able to lend students items as we have in past years. It will be very important that these items be sent with your child each day.

Please know that if winter recess gear is a hardship for your family, we would be happy to help.

Please contact

Please remind your child to look at the lost and found for missing items. These items will be donated in a couple of weeks. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school office @

Student Masks

If possible, please add a "back up" mask to your child's backpack. Masks can get dirty or lost though out the day, and having a back up mask is very helpful.
