Tools that Your Students Can Use!
PURPOSE:
We will discuss ways you can redefine your assessments with Web 2.0 tools that your students can use to create new and innovative products. We will look at 4 tools specifically, and how they can be implemented for easy student use!

- All PALCS students have accounts!

- The easiest way for students and teachers to create + share pages on the web.
- Students can write persuasive essays using not only text, but images and video.
- If your students are under 13, create a class account!
PicMonkey/Canva + Thinglink = AppSmash
Have students create interactive collages using PicMonkey/ Canva and Thinkglink.

- The majority of the features in photo editing programs like Picmonkey and Canva are free and easy for students to use
- Picmonkey is especially good because students do not need an account at all!
- Have students create a collage or graphic using either program.

- It is extremely easy to upload your class roster into Thinglink and create accounts for them.
Flexible student login options
- Students can have an individual account without requiring email
- Students can login with their Google Apps for Education Accounts
- Teachers can add students to their own classrooms by generating a set of usernames and passwords
- Add unlimited number of students
After you have create accounts for students, have them log in and upload their collages! They can add "tags" on their graphic which can link to text, images, video and audio clips.
Google Apps
- These are the easiest apps to get your students using right away!
- You can create templates in Google Docs (Brochures, graphic organizers etc)
- Use Doctopus to push the template out (Amanda's session will explain the process!)
- Google Slides are also great for your students to present or work in collaborative groups!
- Every PALCS student has a GApps Account.
