Impacts on Ocean

Oil Spills
Spilled oil can harm living things because its chemical constituents are poisonous. This can affect organisms both from internal exposure to oil through ingestion or inhalation and from external exposure through skin and eye irritation.
Overfishing
Targeted fishing of top predators (such as billfish, sharks and tuna) eventually disrupts marine communities, causing increased abundance of smaller marine animals at the bottom of the food chain. This in turn has impacts on the rest of the marine ecosystem, such as the increased growth of algae and threats to coral reef health. Overfishing is also closely tied to bycatch, another serious marine threat that causes the needless loss of billions of fish, along with marine turtles and cetaceans.
Water pollution
pieces of trash cause danger in animals lives. Also causes starvation, drowning, and strangulation. When the trash washes up onto beaches and into marshes and wetlands, it ruins breeding grounds and habitats. Marine plants may be strangled by debris and die. Debris removal efforts may alter ecosystems
fertilizer
While fertilizers may be beneficial to the plants, they are not always as healthy for the rest of the environment. Many of the “quick-release” fertilizers have been known to lead to oxygen loss in waterways due to runoff into the street and, as a result, into the water. High amounts of nitrogen can find their way into waterways in this way, causing an excess of algae and a resulting loss of oxygen in the water. This can have a negative effect on fish and other wildlife in the water.
offshore drilling
Offshore drilling presents environmental challenges, both from the produced hydrocarbons and the materials used during the drilling operation. Controversies include the ongoing US offshore drilling debate. Offshore drilling can also cause underwater pollution if the oil the gets spilled.
Dawn's Prevention on Impacts on Oceans
Dawn dishwashing detergent is used to clean up just about anything covered with oil — from birds to sea turtles to human skin.
