Pine Ridge Prep Update
August 22, 2022
Welcome from Mrs. Tanner & Mrs. Banzhaf
Dear Pine Ridge Prep Families,
This will be our first full week of school and we are excited to get started! Students are doing a great job of settling in to routines and procedures, making new friends, and practicing new skills!
This is the third of our weekly parent newsletters for this year. I try to have these sent out each Monday. I make this very comprehensive and include school and district information that you need, as well as community resources. Please read carefully each week as this is the major form of communication you will receive. I send this out via email and text, and post it on our website and Facebook page. If you missed the first newsletter this year, or if you ever just want to go back and reference something, you can find each week's on Facebook and our school website.

As always, if you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to us!
Thank you for the privilege of serving you ~
Mrs. Gabrielle Tanner, Principal
Mrs. Shelley Banzhaf, Building Leader Intern
August & September Events
August 23: United Way Bus Tour
September 5: NO SCHOOL - Labor Day
September 9: Grandparents Day Celebration
September 15: Picture Day
September 16: Pine Ridge Prep 10th Birthday Celebration!

United Way Bus Tour
As a partner and grant recipient of the United Way, Pine Ridge Prep participates in bus tours throughout the school year. A group of community members are bussed over, given information about the community and our program, and given a tour of our Pine Ridge Prep classrooms. We work very hard to ensure this is not a significant disruption to the classroom. The first tour will take place tomorrow, August 23.
Grandparent's Day
We will be celebrating Grandparent's Day on September 9. More information is coming soon!
Items That Need Your Attention
Extra Clothes
Please be sure you send an extra set of clothes (bottom, top, underwear, socks) with your student on the first day of school, in case of accidents. Make sure they are appropriate for the current weather.
ASQ Parent Reports
As part of Home Visits, each family completed the ASQ3 and ASQSE2 developmental screeners. As results were received, a parent report was generated which gives more information and some easy-to-use strategies that you can use at home to support your child's development. You will receive your parent report in your child's Friday Folder in the coming weeks. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions after you receive this report.
If you have not yet completed the ASQ screeners, please do so as soon as possible! This is a requirement for our program. You may access the screeners to complete digitally with the links below.

Medications & Meal Modifications
If your child takes medication at school, you will need to have your child's physician complete and sign a
Request to Administer Medication form, which will need to be returned to Mrs. Banzhaf. Medication must be sent in the original packaging with the original label. If your child needs meal modifications due to
religious or
medical restrictions, please complete and return the attached forms.
Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Arrival begins at 8:30. Students need to be walked to their classroom door and signed in for the day. Dismissal will begin at 3:30. Students will exit their buildings and the approved pick-up person needs to walk up and sign them out for the day.
Car Seats
We have seen in the news recently about many children and caregivers not surviving car accidents because they were not properly restrained. Unintentional accidents are the leading cause of death among children. If you need a car seat, we have a great resource to obtain one. Also, please remember that the car seat needs to be properly restrained within the car as well and you must have the proper number of seatbelts per person in the car. Please move seats between cars as needed when changing vehicles with the children.
COVID Protocols
See the
attached document for the latest information on testing, quarantine, and close contacts. Please be sure to review both the COVID Update and the information on the
Parent Resources page for the latest information from the CDC. Masks are encouraged, but not required. We will maintain strict sanitation protocols.
Late Start
Late Start is on FRIDAYS for this school year and the arival time will be at 9:30.
