Richard Gordon PTA
MAY / JUNE News 2023
THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT AN INCREDIBLE YEAR!
As the year starts to wind down, the PTA would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who have made this year such a success. We couldn't have done it without your help and support. It was so exciting to be able to bring back events, field trips, assemblies and more to the school!
We would like to thank the executive board for all their dedication to helping out whenever and wherever they were needed. We have worked countless hours behind the scenes and there is no other team I would have rather worked with! A huge thank you to Melia Hunt, Kathy Westphal, Lauren Otto and Amberlee Dappollonio.
This year we hosted the Calendar Fundraiser, Fall Carnival, Read-A-Thon and Auction. With these main fundraisers and a few smaller ones we raised about $84,000. Thank you to the chairpersons of these events as well as everyone who volunteered, donated and participated. Because of you we exceeded our fundraising goal by more than $20,000! Truly incredible!
We hosted 7 staff appreciation events, 8 family fun events, 8 school day activities, funded more than $8,700 in educational programs, supplied more than $10,000 in grants for our teachers and much more! And we still have a surplus of funds to use. We are currently taking any feedback on how the surplus of money should be used. What would you like to see at the school? E-mail richardgordonpta@gmail.com with ideas or even better fill out the survey! Click Here to give us feedback and ideas for next year!
It has been an honor to serve on the Board of Directors for the past 4 years. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to be vice president and president and to serve the school the best I could. I have enjoyed working with our amazing teachers, staff and administration and getting to know many of our wonderful families. Gordon has the best community in the galaxy!
In partnership,
Megan Boxman

ABOUT US
What does the PTA do?
- Provide education enrichment – STEAM Nights, Scholastic News, Passport Club, Art Docent Program (funding the art room) and more!
- Support our teachers and staff - grants for classroom supplies & experiences, work committees and staff appreciation events.
- Volunteer- The need & appreciation of volunteer support cannot be understated! There are so many ways to get involved.
- Provide activities that enriches the school experience for children & families –by funding and organizing Tears and Cheers, Trunk or Treat, Field Day, Family Fun Nights, 5th Grade Promotion and more.
- Create and cultivate community - involvement and relationships. The more involved you become the more the community builds!
- Fundraise - integral to help accomplish these other goals. We work with the goal of encompassing fun with fundraising, such as the Read-A-Thon, Turkey Trot, Box Tops, and (hopefully) the Auction.
