Ms. Hess 1/13/17
Class News 1 - 13 - 17
Our class celebrated a wonderful birthday party in honor their classmate, Abraham. The party was complete with decorations, food, drinks, and of course, presents! What a wonderful opportunity to pay it forward!
In literacy this week, we investigated identifying an author's point of view in persuasive texts and looking closely at how an author supports his/her view. Next week, we will discuss how point of view is different in fictional texts.
In math, our work with multiplying large numbers helped us to work toward mastery of multiplying decimal numbers. New week, we will move into learning about dividing decimals.
In science, we are learning about living systems and created a redworm habitat. We will make observations about these worms and how they and their habitat change in the coming weeks. In addition, we had a visit from Mary Bulger, our new Iowa County Conservationist. The learning we did connected directly to our work with Living Systems.
