Two Week Cycle Learning!
Writing- Students should have already watched the four lessons for persuasive writing. The last task was to complete the writing template. Using that template, we will begin to rough draft our first persuasive paper. I will have two mini lessons in week one, and two more in week two for students to work through. It is important that they have completed the first four lessons first though.
Science- Students will begin to define important vocabulary that will lead us into the next phase of our environments unit. They will look more closely at the aquarium environment and also at feeding relationships between organisms. Students need to watch the videos and take good notes for understanding before moving into the food chain/food web game. On Wednesday, May 27, I will send a Zoom link to the students for us to go on a virtual field trip with Mrs. Azoury from the West Bloomfield Parks Department. She always does a real field trip for us every year, and has accepted a virtual field trip for our students. This is always an awesome experience. More to come closer to the date.
Social Studies- In week one of the cycle, students will work through sections 5 and 6 while answering questions from the reading. This will lead us into the last sections of chapter 16 in that second week of learning. This will end our unit on economy of Michigan, but we will then head into our region study with the Southeast region.
Math- We have just started out new unit 6 on multiplication and division. I will continue to introduce students to various strategies that they will need to take notes on and try, but this is all coming to teach them standard algorithm for both operations. Students will have two practices in week one and two or three practices in week two.
