Scholastic Book Fair Is Back!
The Scholastic Book Fair is back in the building! Next Week we will be hosting a fair during school hours. 9:00AM -3:15PM We have enough volunteers to make it possible for the fair to be open each day! (There are still a few gaps if you find you have more time to volunteer) (Remember that you must check with the school office to make sure you are on the volunteer list!)
The fair will not be open to the public this year so please make sure you send money, shop online or use the Scholastic eWallet to make sure your child is able to purchase desired items!
A Flyer should be coming home with your child on Thursday with details on what will be available to purchase at the fair, how to shop online with your child if you would like to make more thoughtful purchases, and how to use the eWallet. Here is a link to our Book Fair page that also has the information needed…just in case you don’t see that flyer in your child’s backpack!

The online book fair will be available until May 8th. If your child missed a chance to buy something at the DCD book fair, They may be able to find that item online! Please feel free to drop me an email if you have any questions.
Thank you for supporting this valuable and fun event! We earn money for each book/item purchased at the fair!

OBOB News
On Saturday, April 16th OBOB teams from all over the region joined in to battle it out for the top spot in the 2021-22 Oregon 3rd -5th grade Battle of the Books virtual competition.
DCD's own 3rd Grade Team "The Impact Readers" joined the fray. We met in the library and spent all morning competing against 4 great teams. Though we did not get into the "Great Eight" Two of the teams we battled did! Which means we went up against some very good teams! I want to congratulate Annie Lewis, Sadie LaRue and Wyatt Nolan for a job well done...and give a nod to Connor Williams for helping them get to the regional competition. (Connor was unable to attend the virtual competition due to other commitments.) We spent our down time eating some great snacks, creeping ourselves out in a totally empty school and having a great Taco lunch! Fun was had by all! I am really proud of this great team and look forward to next year!
