Dear RMS Families

It’s hard to believe it’s December. The end of 2020 is drawing near already. Each January 1st marks an end of one year and the exciting beginning of a new year. As we look back over the 1st nine weeks and reflect upon challenges and successes, we have learned a lot about teaching and learning in a virtual as well as a hybrid platform and we continue to improve on it everyday.

As parents make the decision regarding the platform they want their child to be on for second semester (Virtual or Hybrid), please be mindful that student's schedules will change to accommodate all request and to ensure class sizes stay manageable and we can keep our students and staff safe.

Every household should have received their child's report card in the mail; however, if you haven't received it yet, don't hesitate to contact our guidance office.

As a reminder, if your child is on a virtual track, they should be logged on to their Google Classroom/Zoom on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday each period for teacher-led instruction in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies. Exploratory classes (Music, PE, Art) will have weekly uploaded assignments. If your child is Hybrid, they are coming to school two days, and are still responsible for completing work on the days that they are not physically in the building. No matter which platform students are on, our main goal is for students to grow academically.

Please stay safe during this holiday season!

Educationally yours,

Mrs. Goodson

Tutoring Academy

The faculty and staff of Rosemary Middle School continue to explore ways to help our students find high levels of success. Through research, we have found that completion of homework and practice are strategies proven to be effective in raising achievement.

We are proud to announce that our “Tutoring Academy” will be open to Group A Hybrid on Tuesdays from 7:30 am – 8:45 am and Group B on Thursdays from 7:30 am - 8:45 am. In addition, Virtual students will have the opportunity to attend on designated Saturdays from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Students will be able to obtain academic assistance and tutoring from certified teachers in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Parent/Guardians will be responsible for getting the students to school on the designated day and time. Bus transportation will NOT be provided for students. Students will be provided a schedule so parents are aware of tutoring days.

We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance your child’s success. Letters were mailed home to students; however, if you are interested in your child participating, please contact your child's teacher.
