  • Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a framework that our district uses to give targeted support to all students to help them be successful both in and out of the classroom. It focuses on the “whole child”, which means that it supports academic growth but many other areas, too. These include behavior, social-emotional skills, and attendance.
  • MTSS organizes our schools through systems and teams, which helps us better understand data to provide the necessary support for each individual.
  • Our supports are organized in a tiered model, which looks like the following:
    • Tier I- High quality instruction that all students receive
    • Tier II- Targeted, small group support for some students
    • Tier III- Intensive, individual interventions for a few students
Visit the MTSS webpage for more information including a Request for Assistance Form and contact information.

Gananda Central School District uses ParentSquare for school communication . ParentSquare allows us to communicate with email, text and app notifications. The platform automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified. Visit the Gananda website for more information.

Concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) and is sometimes referred to as a TBI. Concussions are injuries to the brain that occur as the result of impact to the head.

There is a range of symptoms from a concussion, and students with concussions may display very different signs and symptoms. Any student who is suspected of having sustained a concussion should be immediately removed from cognitive, athletic and other physical activities and remain out until evaluated and cleared to return to activity by a licensed health care provider.

You can find Gananda's concussion policy on our website.

Proud Calls!

Our Elementary School Principal, Mrs. Lumb, and Assistant Elementary School Principal, Ms. Reeves, joined the students pictured below to call home together and share good news about something that happened at school. Proud Calls can be for something big or small such as helping a friend, mastering a goal, or doing something to brighten the day for others. We are #GanandaProud of our students!

Additionally, be on the lookout for Fall Getting To Know You calls from Mrs. Lumb and Ms. Reeves. They look forward to connecting with each family!

Socktober - Student Congress Needs Your Help!

We have almost reached the halfway point of Socktober and still need many more pairs of socks to reach our goal! MS Student Congress is collecting socks to donate to the Rochester Open Door Mission . Socks are one of the most needed and least donated items at shelters. Please consider donating new socks to this great cause. The goal of Socktober is to collect 500 pairs of new socks. If we reach that goal Mr. Butt will wear Buffalo Bills gear every morning for the entire month of November!
