Message from Mr. Finkle
Dear Parents of Seniors:
We are exactly two weeks away from graduation, and we would like to make graduation an exciting and enjoyable event for both students and parents. I am respectfully requesting your help and support for the following:
- Seniors were asked to complete a Post-Graduation Plan Form several weeks ago, and we have only received a handful. Your children worked very hard for the past four years, and we would like to recognize their accomplishments in the program. Please encourage your child to submit their completed form to Mrs. Kitty Newman in Guidance by this Monday, June 5th. The Graduation Program goes to the printer on Tuesday, June 6th and additions and changes cannot be made after that date. Each year, parents are disappointed during the ceremony when their child's accomplishments are not listed.
On May 19th, a detailed letter was sent home to senior parents regarding Senior Night, mandatory graduation practices and graduation. As stated in the letter, graduation tickets are not required if the ceremony is held outside. In the event of inclement weather, graduation will be held in the gym. Due to limited seating, only four guests will be allowed to attend. Tickets will be distributed at practice on Friday morning. For additional information, please review the letter carefully. The ceremony will be streamed live on our web site, in the media center and the performing arts center. We will do our very best to hold the ceremony outdoors.
Please do not bring balloons to the ceremony whether it will be held outdoors or indoors. We receive many complaints after every graduation ceremony from family members and friends that they had a difficult time viewing the ceremony because of the obstruction. Please be mindful and respectful of your neighbor during this important event.
The procession will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Due to the large volume of cars, parking will be a challenge. I ask everyone to give yourself extra time that evening. If anyone needs to be driven to the football field, the custodial staff will be available with golf carts. Please drop off your family members at the gymnasium doors.
Diplomas will be distributed to the seniors during the ceremony. Only one copy has been ordered for each student. Getting a duplicate copy is costly and time consuming.
The Class of 2017 worked extremely hard. They deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labor with little distractions so please plan your arrival time accordingly.
The graduation set-up will be different this year. Please make sure you speak with your child about the best place to sit for graduation!
Project Graduation
The Delran Middle & High School PTA is proud to sponsor Project Graduation for the Class of 2017 on Friday, June 16th from 9:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at the Burlington County Special Services School in Lumberton. Project Graduation is a drug and alcohol free party for our graduates and it allows the seniors to celebrate with their fellow classmates in a safe environment. Tickets are $10.00 and will be sold at Senior Night. See the PTA letter and flyer for detailed information.
On behalf of the administration, faculty, and staff, we would like to thank the PTA for their continued support for our students and staff! Without their tireless hard work and dedication, Project Graduation and other important events would not be possible. Thank you PTA for all you do!!!!!
Congrats Class of 2017
