A Peek Inside the Week - Sept. 9th, 2022
A Note From Your Principals
High standards.
Every student.
Every day.
Based on our spring survey, 94% of families agreed or strongly agreed with the statement, "My child's teacher(s) have high expectations for my child." Our goal for this school year is that all our families agree with that statement because at Eli Terry we believe every child can grow and learn at high levels. We want every child and family to believe the same!
Time and time again we have seen our students not only reach the expectations set for them, whether academically, behaviorally, or socially, but exceed them. Your children are capable of AMAZING things and it's our job to help them, "Dream, achieve, and inspire".
Car Rider Dismissal - Important Reminders
In order to keep all our students safe, with the car, bus, and pedestrian traffic in our parking lot at the end of the day, we’d like to remind families about the procedures for car rider pickup.
ALL students who have been assigned a car rider number, must be picked up in a vehicle, along the sidewalk. Families should not be meeting their child(ren) at the gym door or Main Entrance.
The only exceptions to this are:
Kindergarten students who may be too small to enter the car and buckle themselves independently.
Families with special permission due to previously communicated circumstances.
In addition, in order to ensure our buses are able to get into the parking lot, families picking up in vehicles will be given priority over those being picked up outside the door.
Lastly, any changes to your child's dismissal plans must be communicated to Mrs. Audrey Nieves (School Clerk) prior to 2PM. You can email her at: anieves@swindsor.k12.ct.us.

Open House FAQs
1) Is it In-School meeting or Remote?
We are thrilled that Open House has returned to a fully IN PERSON event. There will no virtual option!
2) Can the kids come or Parents only?
Open House is designed as an adults only evening. Teacher presentations are catered to school/classroom information that is for parents/guardians.
3) Is it split by Last Names?
It is not split by last name. We offer two sessions so that families with kids in multiple grades don't miss a teacher presentation.
