Jaxom
Judgement
Jaxom always tries to do what is right. At some points of the book, Jaxom must make a choice. Although he can be rash, his is usually the right choice in the end.
Compassion
This picture of a heart represents Jaxom's compassion for those he cares about, especially his dragon, Ruth.
Curiosity
In the book, Jaxom has a feeling of needing to explore Southern beyond Cove Hold while he is sick, and cannot. His curiosity also pops up at different parts of the story, and can occasionally get him in trouble.
"One must never underestimate a dragonrider. Especially a Northern one." -F'lar, Benden Wyrleader (Page 730)
This quote is important to Jaxom because it applies to him. People were always underestimating him, but he had a plan, and he got his way in the end.
Ruatha Hold
Ruatha Hold is where Jaxom lives, and will one day be Lord Holder of.
Cove Hold
Originally Shelter Cove, Jaxom stays there while recovering from a deadly disease. The hold itself is later built when Master Robinton decides to come and live there.
The Plateau
The plateau is where the main characters find things that the Ancients have left behind. The finds in this place offer many solutions in the story.
Character Pillar: Responsibility
Jaxom learned responsibility over the course of the book, which he demonstrates when he becomes Lord Holder.
