What are the Best Fishing Practices that will Keep Fishing Sustainable?
They're many Fishing practices that will keep fishing sustainable. One way is not to overfish where the fishing population doesn't decline over time. Over fishing is when we fish too much at a faster than usual. However, there are effects of over fishing. Short term effects if we over fish is Fishing companies will gain more money but the fishing population will decrease faster. Long term effects of over fishing is, since the fishing population will decrease faster the fish won't come back for a while, which will make the fishing companies lose a lot of money making the fishermen quit due to the loss of money.
How do we protect our Fishing Population/Environments In Canada?
We protect our fishing environments by, having look outs,Having Fishing Licences and making fishing laws. Look outs make sure that no one is over fishing or breaking any of the fishing laws. Some of the fishing laws are having fish limits where the people fishing have a limit of how much fish they can keep. Another Fishing law is to have a fishing Licences, so you are allowed to catch fish at any fishing area.
Why might Fishing Companies not want to stop Overfishing ?
Fishing companies may not want to stop over fishing because of money. The more fish the catch the more money they get. This means the fishing companies will need more people for fishing jobs. Fishing companies may not want to stop overfishing because it gives them more money and people more jobs
