April 3, 2018 Levy Issue
The Raymore-Peculiar School District Board of Education on Jan. 18, 2018, voted unanimously to ask voters for a 75-cent operating levy increase, Proposition R-P, on the April 3, 2018, ballot. At the same time, the debt service tax rate is scheduled to decrease by 30 cents, resulting in a net tax rate increase of 45 cents. A simple majority is required for approval.
Revenue from the levy increase would be used to support key elements in the recently approved Strategic Plan. These include:
- Incorporating additional real-world, hands-on learning opportunities and promoting soft-skill development
- Expanding Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) opportunities for all students
- Expanding mental health supports for students and staff
- Reducing gaps in achievement through additional interventions and supports
- Establishing a market-competitive salary and benefit plan
- Ensuring appropriate class sizes and caseloads
- Supporting ongoing pursuit of job-related training and advanced degrees
- Investing additional resources in facility maintenance and upkeep

PAWS Information
This is not a one-on-one tutoring support. If you are interested in having your student attend, please contact your team of teachers to coordinate it. Because of transportation needs, the deadline for this communication is noon on Tuesdays (the day prior to PAWs on Wednesdays). The list starts fresh every week, so it is important to communicate with the teachers frequently - if they haven't already reached out to you.
Our goal is for this to be a productive but fun time for the students who are attending to complete tasks and practice academics. Students should have at least an hour and a half of practice, assignments or assessments to work on.
No Tardy Party: Part Deux
End-of-the-Year Incentive
Student Attendance at After School Events
Students are expected to remain in the stands during the games unless utilizing restroom or concessions. Middle school students will have a designated section in the south end zone on the field and will have access to the nearby visitor concessions and restrooms.
