8TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
The 8th grade Broncos played in the tournament at North Richland last weekend. They took on North Richland and Richland dropping only one set.
Great defense from Addison Smith kept the Broncos in the game. Serves were untouchable from Kyra Turner, Aliya Kershaw, Ella Trevino, and Reagan Hanacik. The Broncos returned Saturday to take on Haltom and Hurst and only dropped one set and clinched the Championship! Big hitter of the game were Natalie Luna, Makenna Standard, Zoey Herring, Briley Young, and Addyson Williams. A great leader emerged after dislocating her shoulder. Divine Masoka-Ngalula was injured Friday and was unable to play, but she stayed positive on the sidelines and helped lead her team to the championship!
7TH GRADE FOOTBALL
Our Broncos 7th grade A team played Central Monday night. Central came into the game being the #1 team in our district. Your Broncos fought hard all night long and really took it to the Spartans. Led by a great defensive effort our boys came up a bit short due to some untimely turnovers. Our offensive and defensive lines led the team with great blocks and great stops. Big shout out to the big boys who really stepped up.
Our Bedford Bronco football C Team fought hard Monday night against a tough Euless squad. Although we had some good running from Daniel Rivas and touchdown saving tackles from Josue Diaz, the Stallions were able to win out on the night. Come out and support next week!
7TH GRADE B TEAM WIN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP
7TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
In the first set, Haley Blocker-Smith, Reagan Ingram and Kenslee Turner led the service pressure with tough serves that led to a 25-11 victory. In set two, MuRae Horn and Kenslee Turner again put relentless pressure on the Spartans that led to a 25-13 victory. Olivia Delgado, Sara Thapa-Magar and Lana Davis led the passing that allowed, Hailey Blocker-Smith, Natalie Roach, Mia Easter-Clark and Trulie Taylor-Maroney to apply net pressure and the spiking attack. This team is playing their best volleyball of the season and continuing to show their improvement! They take on North Oaks next week at BJH!
CROSS COUNTRY RESULTS
Cross Country athletes rocked it at the district meet last Friday! Despite the gloomy weather and rigorous course, filled with several hills, the JV boys pulled through and excelled! They happily crushed Trinity and landed in 1st place!
BJH athletes Maegan White, Emily Owens, Jackson Kamm, Christopher James, and Hisham Al-Noubani represented BJH incredibly well! These athletes are on the road to success and growth. Go Broncos!

BJH GRADING POLICIES
Late Work Policy
It is the philosophy of Bedford Junior High School that allowing a student to not complete all
assignments (and thus receiving a zero on the assignment) is unacceptable. In an effort to ensure that zeroes are kept to a minimum, the following policies will apply to all grades and subjects.
1. If a class assignment or homework assignment is not turned in at the designated time (and therefore late), the student may turn the assignment in to the teacher by 8:20 a.m. the next day past the due date. (For example, if a homework assignment is assigned on a Monday and due on Tuesday during the class time, it will be accepted until 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday.) However, work turned in during this time frame will receive a 30% deduction below the grade earned on the assignment. (For example, a late homework assignment turned in on a Wednesday in the above scenario that was 100% correct would earn a 70% in the teacher gradebook. A late homework assignment turned in on a Wednesday that was 90% correct would earn a 63% in the gradebook since 30% of 90 is 27.)
2. Class assignments or homework assignments not turned in during the above time frames may still be completed in Late Work Lunch Detention (LWLD). The teacher will submit the student’s name on a Google document. Lunch detention is served on the stage in the cafeteria. There is a maximum of 2 days to complete the assignment.
3. Students are responsible for notifying the teacher once work is completed. Work submitted during this time frame will receive a maximum grade of 50. If the work is not completed during this time, students may receive a zero and a referral may be written.
Gradebook Codes
- 0 for students that cannot make up assignment (i.e. cheating, did not turn in the work, or earned a zero on the assignment)
- 1 for students that work is incomplete, potentially turn into a zero or a 50
- X for students that are exempt from assignment
- Z for students that were absent and can get full credit
