The Principal's Den- from One Cool Cat to Another
Welcome back everyone! It has been an incredible Christmas/Holiday break. Can you believe the spring like temps we had here? It felt more like a Spring break than a Christmas one! Whatever you did over your break, I do hope you feel more rested and are now charged & ready to get back to work. It's always hard to get up early again however, just remember that your students, your team, & the entire staff is ready to see your beautiful, gorgeous smiling faces!
I would like to meet with everyone (teachers, paras, office staff) on Monday at 10:00 am in the library. I want us to take some time to visit one another and to discuss The Bobcat 6. We should be done by 11:30, if not sooner. You will be able to have lunch on your own or with your team and then work with your teams for the remainder of the day.
You will also notice that Anna and I have scheduled a "Cookies & Cocoa" meeting this month. Our time together will focus on you and the needs of your team. It is a time to talk and share ideas, concerns, ask questions and plan. Anna and I just want to spend time with you in a more private setting so that we can have time to just talk about the things you wouldn't bring up in a full faculty setting. Bring your calendars with you & any other information you would like to share.
The Bobcat 6
- Be prepared every day.
- Intentionally plan using a variety of strategies to meet the needs of all students.
- Seek solutions and always focus on what is best for kids.
- Know what you need to learn and seek the knowledge out.
- Build positive relationships and communicate effectively.
- Be accountable.
PRIDE Expectations
T-TESS
- Standards & Alignment - The teacher designs clear, well-organized, sequential lessons that reflect best practice, align with standards and are appropriate for diverse learners.
- Data & Assessment - The teacher uses formal and informal methods to measure student progress, then manages and analyzes student data to inform instruction.
- Knowledge of Students - Through knowledge of students and proven practices, the teacher ensures high levels of learning, social-emotional development and achievement for all students.
- Activities - The teacher plans engaging, flexible lessons that encourage higher-order thinking, persistence and achievement.
Your completed lesson plans should be uploaded in our Google shared folder each week no later than 7:30 am every Monday morning. One of the advantages of using Google Drive for our lesson plans is the ability to collaborate in real time within a document. Working directly on a Google Doc or Sheet allows you, a teammate or administration to add details, comments and/or questions. Look at the last lesson plan you put in our Google shared folder. Can you add a comment or additional details to your team's lesson plans? If you are unsure how to do this, just let me know. I am happy to help. Be sure and check out the T-TESS rubric too.
Where in the World are Anna & Kristen?
