District 33 Early Childhood Education
Birth to Three Program
District 33 is home to one of Illinois' most extensive school district home visiting programs. The Birth to 3 Program provides services to expecting mothers and families who have children under three years old. Staff primarily support families through home visits, but we have been working to provide more opportunities for families to connect in group settings this year. Groups offer young children the chance to start interacting with other children their age. They also are a way for parents to connect, share ideas and support each other on their parenting journey. Check out all these great offerings for families in West Chicago:
Infant Massage Classes-Learn strategies to interact with your baby that help support early language development, promote better sleep and digestion and reduce crying.
Mothers and Babies-This class focuses on tools to manage stress for caregivers. Learn strategies to cope with the challenges in life, promote healthy communication, and learn ways to help your baby start learning from the start.
Library Group-The West Chicago Public Library leads groups at the library and on zoom for families in our Program. Every child who attends receives a copy of the book. This is a great group to build your child's earliest skills with reading.
Fathers' Group-This evening group is a chance for fathers to learn more about the critical role they plan in their child's education. Fathers enjoy dinner, playtime with their children, and conversation on special topics.
Special Needs Group - Families with a child with special needs of any age meet to get support, learn about specific community resources, and share their parenting journey.
Parent-Child Group - Meet other families as you and your child enjoy playtime, music, books, and snacks.
Walking Club - In nice weather, meet up with other children and families for a short walk in your neighborhoods.
Preschool - Openings for the 22-23 School Year

Board Salute - April 7, 2022
This board salute is for Jose Hernandez, Birth to Three Program, ELS Paraprofessional.
"Jose works diligently behind the scenes to support all the staff in Birth to 3 and, in turn, supports families across District 33. He has packed nearly 1000 activity bags and prize bags for families this school year. He has hand-delivered hundreds of books as well. His efforts to get materials into the hands of West Chicago families in an efficient and organized way impact our youngest learners and their families now and in the years to come. Thank you, Jose!"
