Mrs. Call, Ms. Duncan, and Dr. Williamson

We will be testing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for the next three weeks. We will start with ELA on April 23rd, 24th, and 25th Math testing will be on April 30th, May 1st, and May 2nd. Science testing will be Galileo testing will be on MAY 7th, 8th, and 9th. Please make sure your child is in attendance on these dates with a good breakfast and plenty of sleep. Gallileo testing will follow MAP testing, so your encouragement will be necessary. :)
Please Help!
We would love to give the students a little extra snack to keep them focused and happy during MAP testing. Let's face it, everyone loves food, especially growing fifth graders!
If you can send any of the following, please do so! We would love your support!
MAP Snacks-
cheese sticks, pretzels, trail mix, protein bars, cuties or other fresh fruit, individual popcorn, individual waters, gatorades... (Really any healthy snack or drink would be appreciated! ) We would love to have these as soon as possible! :)
Thank you all! You are the best!
ATTENDANCE MATTERS! :)
Our students are working hard to reach their attendance goals! Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child is at school EVERY day, ON time, ALL day.
If students achieve 95% for the 4th Quarter, they will be celebrated with a sundae party at the end of the quarter!
Make Explore Part of Your Summer Plans!
This summer, Explore will offer students exciting opportunities to pursue their unique interests and passions. Each day they will learn, create, invent, and discover through engaging learning opportunities, including free Artworks classes.
Seated and virtual classes for K-8 students will be offered June 3-28. Virtual classes for grades 1-12 will also be offered July 8-Aug. 2.
Students in grades 3 through 8 have the opportunity to enroll in free Artworks classes at three locations—Fremont and Sunshine Elementary Schools and Wilson’s Creek Intermediate School.
Elementary students will attend Explore classes Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Middle school and K-8 students will attend from 8:20 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. Registration for elementary students begins March 7. Registration for middle school students begins March 6.
High school students may register for Explore classes beginning March 4.
Register for Explore classes at www.sps.org/ExploreLinks to an external site..
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
When you do the math, 90% of attendance is 20 school days missed. That’s 20 days of critically important lessons, support from teachers, and memories with classmates. If you need support getting your child to school, we’re here to help.
Please continue to encourage your student(s) to "Strive for 95!" each day. Students have plenty of time to earn a spot in our 4th Quarter Sundae Party Attendance Celebration.

Writing Focus- MAP Test Preparation
Can students have store bought food in the classroom?
- I love Starbucks more than the next person, BUT due to the stickiness, distraction, and honestly an unwanted power struggle, please help teachers with making sure these goodies are gobbled before 7:20am. If students haven't finished their special treat at drop off, no worries! They can finish their items in the cafeteria before the bell. If students aren't done with their items by the time class starts, they will be asked to throw it away...so eat quickly!
