Asset 25 - Reading for Pleasure
The staff and students at Holliday spent the last two weeks of the month really focusing on our asset of the month, Reading for Pleasure, with several fun activities...
Mrs. Schieman visited several classrooms to read her favorite book to the students, The Old Woman Who Named Things by Cynthia Rylant.
Students and staff dressed up as their favorite book characters on Tuesday. We had some very creative and wonderful costumes!
There was a friendly competition to see which homeroom class could read the most books. Congratulations to the 1st & 2nd grade hallway winner, Mrs. Weekley's class with 31 books, and to the 3rd - 5th grade hallway winner, Miss Jankowski's class with 513 books! These classes had a cookie party to celebrate. We had a grand total of 1,742 books read in the school to celebrate our asset of the month!
