Support Services During the Winter Break
The holidays are upon us, and though the season may be joyous for some people, realistically, others may need extra support during this time. The Office of Student Supports has provided students and families with the attached list of resources to access if needed - not just over the winter break, but anytime during the year. The list includes support services for food, housing, emergency mental health services, and financial or medical assistance.
If students or families experience a crisis over the winter break, they should seek immediate assistance using the attached resources or by calling 911 if it is an emergency. Students and families are encouraged to follow up with their school's Office of Student Support staff, who will be available to assist and offer ongoing support upon returning to school.
Wishing you a happy and healthy season!

Safety
The winter break is a great time to clean your child's backpack, lunch bag, coat etc...to help limit the spread of germs and keep our students and staff healthy and safe.
Georgia Milestones Coach Workbooks
We are often asked, โWhat can we do at home to help prepare for Georgia Milestones?โ If you are interested in supplemental materials, the Georgia Coach series is an excellent choice. This grade specific series provides students with the level of rigorous practice that is called for by the Georgia Standards of Excellence and will help prepare your child for the Georgia Milestones. Georgia Milestones will be given to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students; however, only 5th graders will be taking the Science portion. Reading/LA and Math books are available for grades 3-5 and Science books are available for grade 5. If you would like to purchase books for your student, please use the Online School Payment System which is linked on the order form. All orders are due by Friday, January 6th.
You can purchase the books here.
Young Georgia Authors Competition
Young Georgia Authors
The purpose of the YGA Writing K-12 Competition is to encourage students to develop enthusiasm for and expertise in their writing, to provide a context to celebrate their writing successes, and to recognize student achievement in arts and academics.
Findley Oaks is very excited to participate in the Young Georgia Authors contest this year. If your child would like to participate, please see the rules and requirements linked HERE. All entries must to be turned in to the front office by January 27th 2023. School level winners will be announced by January 3rd.
