Grade 6 Spring Update

Spring is in the air....

Spring fever!

Dating....As you may or may not know 6th grade is the beginning of exploring relationships. We have seen so many wonderful new friendships made this year and old friendships become stronger. We have also seen a great deal of "dating". This traditionally does not happen until the 4th quarter but this year we have been seeing it for quite some time.

We want to help students navigate the academic expectations of grade 6 and balance their social lives as well. The stress and drama that we see on a daily basis because of the prevalent dating has disrupted learning and impacted grades. We have seen a decline in appropriate hallway behavior and is stressing many students out.

We would like to ask for your support. If you could have a conversation with your student about this topic and reinforce the academic focus of school as we approach the last 10 weeks of 6th grade we would appreciate it.
