Should people be allowed to carry guns openly?

In recent years, the practice of openly carrying a firearm has grown a lot in popularity. A bill making it's way through the Oklahoma State Legislature will allow citizens to the state to openly carry a loaded handgun. But the second amendment does not justify open gun carry and hold that more guns out in the open will lead to less safety. Only six states and Washington DC prohibit this practice (Patrick J. Kiger).

How many guns are in the United States?

The United States has a lot of guns, so many that there's one firearm for every person in the country. There was an estimated 310 million guns in the U.S. Including 114 million handguns, 110 million rifles, and 86 million shotguns. About 8 million firearms are manufactured globally each year, and 4.5 million are bought by people who live in the U.S. (Patrick J. Kiger).

Do states with strict gun control laws have less gun violence?

States with high poverty, low numbers of college graduates, and high numbers of working - class had more gun violence. 27.2% of guns purchased in Virginia which is a state with less strict gun laws are recovered after being used in a crime within two years of originally buying it. Gun violence is less likely to occurs in states that have gun control laws (Patrick J. Kiger).
