MARCH
Things to Think About...
Our STUDENTS need this every day. WE need this every day. BUILD RELATIONSHIPS = GROWTH AND ACHIEVING EXPECTATIONS. We empower our kids and empower each other. Our kids ARE our future. Thank you for what you do! We love our RJH FAMILY.
MARCH GOALS!!!
Stay positive! You are a light to each other AND our students. When you struggle, stop and do something you enjoy. If there's a problem, instead of talking about it to others, come to us and let's try and fix it. Be mindful of the company you keep. <3
Lastly, hang in there! Spring has sprung. Everyone be on your toes! We've got to take care of all our baby chicks. ;)
A Month at a Glance...
Announcements, Information, & Reminders:
DON'T FORGET TO JOIN IN ON THE MEN AND LADIES OF HONOR! Ask Kaley Jones for more details!
NEWSLETTER ADDITION: With spring getting SO busy, it's hard to keep track of "all the things"; therefore, if you have a group going on a field trip, contest, or a big event happening in your class that's related to your subject area, please make sure to add that to the Campus News Template so it can be sent out to parents. This new section is highlighted in green. Otherwise, I will use the information on the RJH Big Events Calendar. :)
ARE YOU LEAVING US?: If you know that you will not be here next year, please come see me so we can begin the process to get your position listed. With students' best in mind, this will ensure we get a head start in filling positions for next year.
- SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Click HERE to make sure your school supplies have made it onto the list for next year. Remember, we are trying to keep cost way down for parents. There are still some missing, so email Mrs. White to add supplies for your class/dept.
- FLEX: There will be one FLEX DAY for Clubs and Organizations at the end of the month on Thursday, March 28th.
- MANDATORY STAAR TRAINING: MARCH 20 @ 4:30 p.m.
- TARDIES: Reminder: If you are one putting in tardies in Skyward but not documenting them on the our Tardy Sheet, don't forget to do that. Help us help you!
- GRADES: You will need 15 grades TOTAL by the end of this nine weeks--- 3 Test Grades and 12 Daily Grades. GRADE CHECK will be done before Spring Break.
- DUTIES: Everyone should be at their duty stations in the mornings, afternoons, and in-between classes. (Duty Sheet) Thank you to EVERYONE for your consistency with duties. GREAT JOB!
- MARCH 4-7: PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK:
- STAFF POTLUCK ON THURSDAY, MARCH 7TH: Don't forget about out "Take Me Out to the Ballpark" potluck. Click HERE to sign up for something great!
- SPRING INTERVENTION DAYS: There is only one more Intervention Day in March 22. The next set of intervention will be the following dates: April 12, April 19, April 26, and May 3. If you have any students that need to attend for this last set of days, for STAAR purposes, a list will need to be given to Mrs. Bullock if they are not already invited. Permission forms will be passed out after Spring Break for these final intervention dates.
- SUMMER SCHOOL: Teachers, you should be looking at students in your classes that WILL NOT pass for the year. If there is anything that these students can do to pass, we need to let them know Summer School will be the next step if they do not make significant progress. (Once we end the third nine weeks, a Google Sheet will be shared among grade level, core teachers to list possible failures for the year.) If you are interested in teaching summer school for some extra money, please let me know. I will be getting clarification on Summer School pay.
We hope you all have a WONDERFUL week. If you need anything or have any questions, let us know!

"The oar is the energy you bring to your life."
WHO'S BEEN ROWING THE BOAT?
We LOVE seeing the pics, along with the wonderful words that have made each person so deserving of receiving the oar. Each one on our campus plays a role in rowing our boat.
(When you receive the oar, send pics or call us to take them when you pass it onto the next person.)
Jacquelyn Young
Jenny Holliday
She is a major piece to our RJH campus. She goes above and beyond for our students. Being in charge of NJHS is not an easy task, yet she does it with ease. Being able to maintain 8th grade students...(especially when she had them in 7th grade LOL) speaks volume. She is always so welcoming, not only with students but teachers as well. Jenny is most deserving of this OAR! Please help me in congratulating her!
Mrs. Staci
If you know Staci, talked to Staci, passed by Staci in the hallway, or just heard her awesome loud laugh down the hall, then you KNOW she lives for these kids! With many many many years of teaching she has touched and made an impact on so many hearts and lives. I have greatly enjoyed being her hallway neighbor this year and ALWAYS seeing her in action. I have learned a lot from her! You deserve this and so much more Mrs. Sugar!!
Melissa Cotton
Now it is time to pass the oar to someone who is the hardest worker I have ever met! The oar is going to Melissa Cotton! She is here before everyone else in the morning ,and she works so many hours after school and on weekends to keep everything going. She makes sure the coaches and athletes and band directors and musicians are learning in the best environment possible. She gives 100% all the time. There is no way we could make it on this campus without her. She was my first best friend and my sister for life. You deserve the world sweet baby sister!
Each week, the oar will be passed onto others who are also rowing the boat. With each of us rowing this year, we are going to do great things together. Everyone is challenged to look outside your department. Any person can receive the oar--teacher, para, cafeteria, maintenance, or custodial staff.
