JWAC ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL CAREER DAY
The Junior World Affairs Council of Bedford Jr. High joined Harwood Jr. High, Euless Jr. High, as well as Bell and Trinity councils in attendance of the World Affairs Council of Dallas-Ft. Worth International Career Day. Students were able to hear from leaders in their field about the importance of global-awareness skills in today’s economy. These speakers came from many different backgrounds, ranging in industries from journalism to medical care, to human rights advocates, and foreign service. The day ended with an intriguing discussion between former ambassadors Ryan Crocker and Robert Jordan about the state of the United States diplomacy and global presence. It was a great day!
READING STUDENTS ATTEND TIE DYE PARTY
Students in Mrs. Marcaccio’s class attended a tie dye party, where they learned how to tie dye t-shirts. This was a fun way to end their novel, SCHOOLED by Gordon Korman. The tie dye party replicated a scene in the novel when the main character, Cap Anderson, taught his fellow classmates the art of tie dying.
