Definition

Gestational Diabetes- Pregant women having a form of high blood sugar, effecting them and possibly the baby.

Problems/Symptoms

In most cases of Gestational Diabetes there are no symptoms. During a Pregnancy they are giving a blood sugar test to use as a diagnosis. Some people may experience fatigue ( increased thirst) and frequent urination or yeast infecation

Gestational diabetes is treatable by medical professionals, requires a medical diagnosis, lad test or imaging is always required. Treatment strategies for Gestational diabetes are daylie blood sugar monitoring, a healthy diet, exercise, and monitoring the baby. If blood sugar is to high medication is needed. In most cases it resolved within months.

Examples of Medication: Metformin (Glucophage), Insulin Lispro by injection ( Homalog), and Insulin by injection.
