Cross Country

The boys and girls varsity cross country season ended last Saturday after their state meets in Hershey, PA. While the girl's team had high expectations and hopes, the day did not go exactly as they planned. The team’s top runner, Gracelyn Laudermilch collapsed during the last part of the race while giving her total effort for her team. Aniah Kolesar finished first for the team and earned a state medal after getting 23rd place, the third girl to get a state medal in school history. On the boy’s side, Creed Dewing earned his second state medal, this year in 6th place. The boy’s team placed 15th overall, beating their rival school, Towanda, by 5 places. All members who attended the state meet this year will be returning next year, giving hope for a fantastic 2023 season. Great job runners!

Senior class

The senior class had been holding a raffle ticket sale for a wooden flag as a fundraiser. The winner was announced at the Veterans Day program on Friday. Congratulations to Dana Crawn and her lucky ticket!

Parent Teacher Conferences

On Friday, November 18th, there will be a parent-teacher conference and a “Meet the Panthers Night”. Teachers will be available to discuss classes, grades, and student behavior from 8 am to 6 pm. “Meet the Panthers Night” will be held in the high school cafeteria from 4-6 pm. Any clubs, groups, or teams are welcome to set up their own table in the cafeteria for availability to have conferences with parents, students, and athletes. Talk to Molly Pifer, (23mpifer@nebpanthers.com) for more details. Everyone is welcome to come to learn about various school activities, clubs, and sports.

Students of NEB participated in a spirit week Mon-Thurs, ending with a pep rally in the gym on Thursday. During the pep rally, autumn sport participants were recognized, as well as included in small games like an obstacle course and crab soccer. The members of the 2022 homecoming court were announced and called to the gym floor to play a game in which the girls gave the boys a makeover to make them "pretty" in preparation for homecoming. Thank you to Mrs. Bellinger and the members of SGA for putting on a fantastic pep rally for the first time in 2 years! (Pictures are of Richy Palmer and Will Dunbar.)
