Elizabeth IdeReading Takes you Places Ide's Literacy Committee has been hard at work inspiring our learners to be lifelong readers! Each month there is a new theme and design on our bulletin boards. Staff themselves have been featured to serve as inspiration to our students. We showcase favorite books along with warm smiles. This visual reinforces the idea that even as adults we love reading! This month we are inspired by the way they have all jumped "Into Reading"! Each grade level has now launched the first module, and theis students are engaging in rich learning opportunities and texts. The Lakeview staff is inspiring us with their responsiveness to balancing the needs of our students. On one hand, they are seeing that families and students are enjoying how Spartan Hour is addressing the development of SEL skills and our school community. On the other hand, some students and families are reporting more time for homework is needed to accommodate the lost minutes due to our school day being shortened. As a result, Study Hall is now an option for students who need a quiet place to work most days during Spartan Hour. We are inspired by Lakeview's persistance to address all students' needs! |
