The Galapagos Islands
Visited the Galapagos in 1835 on the H.M.S. Beagle
Finches on the Galapagos were a great subject for Darwin to observe because of all their adaptations.
Galapagos Giant Tortoises
Darwin was not fond of the Giant Tortoises while on the Islands but saw them as an evolutionary feet. The tortoises live for over 100 years!
There are 9 active Volcanoes on the Archipelago.
