Butterfly School News- JANUARY 2020!!
2020! I cant wait to see what fantastic opportunities this year will bring!
In 2 Corinthians 5:17 Paul tells us that all believers have died with Christ and no longer live for themselves. Our old life and sinful nature was nailed to the cross with Christ. This passage reminds me of the metamorphoses of a butterfly- a new creation, what a glorious thing. We will never reach a sinless perfection on earth but thanks to Christ's sacrifice, we are no longer a slave to sin! What a wonderful thought to begin the new year!
‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.’ 2 Cor. 5:17

Chapel Chat -Ms. Chris
What a blessing it has been for our children to have been able to spread the news of Jesus' birth during our special Christmas program. They did such an awesome job! In January we start the new year with Bible Stories that focus on obeying . Noah obeyed God by building an ark and we will see what happened to Jonah when he didn't obey! We will learn about a promise God made when we see a rainbow. Our January Bible verse is
Ephesians 6:1 "Children obey your parents".
Looking forward to another wonderful year learning about God's love through songs and stories! Happy New Year!
Celebrating Christ's birthday!
Happy birthday Jesus!

Library- Ms. Lee
In January we'll be enjoying the literature of Laura Numeroff. She is the author of the "If You Give . . . (a Mouse a Cookie, a Moose a Muffin)" series. Her books are known for their fun characters and circle qualities. The characters start in one place, travel to different spots, and wind up right where they started. These read alouds are fun and active listening is required.
I'll also be sharing winter books with the three year olds and the four year olds will hear animal (zoo, wild, pet) books. I want to compliment all of our Butterfly students on the respect they show to our library books. They're sharing and turning pages correctly. I'm so proud of our students and we're having fun in the library!
Sensational Science- Ms. Tracy
This month in science we’ll be learning about the absorption rate of several materials, surface tension by blowing bubbles in different liquids, and making ice cream in a jar. Fun in January!
Coding Kids- Ms. Susan
I hope everyone had a great break! I am excited to see everyone back. This month we will recap what we learned in December and continue programing our BeeBots to reach a specific destination.
"When children learn to code, they develop the ability to bounce back after failure. They learn that failure isn’t necessarily a bad thing, and in fact, it can often be something positive because it serves as a learning opportunity. This is one of the most important reasons why kids should code, as they will learn quickly that ‘debugging’ your code is half the fun. When you fail and try again you can learn from your mistakes. Coding gives children the ability to try and try again until they succeed and produce the result they are looking for."
So... you made it to the end of the newsletter... Good for you! Here is an added bonus!
